Five Rules of the Hot Detox
- Cook your food. Combine warming foods with cooling foods to neutralize them. i.e. enjoy roasted veggies with salad greens.
- Add warming spices to improve digestion, kill microbes, and improve liver and bowel detox i.e. cinnamon, cumin, coriander, turmeric, ginger.
- Hydrate with 10-14 cups of fluid a day. All non-caffeinated beverages count. This improves stool movement and increases detoxification. Bone or veggie broth is ideal to increase bowel healing so buy or make that regularly.
- Enjoy olive oil, avocado, and omega 3 oil to improve bowel movements. These also reduce inflammation.
- Increase veggie count to 10 and use fermented veggies when possible to improve the microbiome.

Five Tips to Make the Hot Detox Easier
- Use the ultra-simple menu as a guide and adapt to your personal needs and preferences.
- Eat as slowly as possible and stop the moment you feel satisfied.
- Learn your proper portions. 1 cup of salad, 1/2 cup for other greens like broccoli, and 1/4 cup squash is a portion. 1 tbsp of fat is a portion. For protein, everyone is different! Look at your hand and know that the palm is the perfect amount of protein.
- Keep a journal of foods to establish what does not agree with you. Gauge if a particular food causes gas or bloating.
- Using power foods and supplements can accelerate results but these are not needed if on a budget. Relax and make the plan as individual as you are!
