I have included apple, kiwi, clementine, pineapple, berries, mango, banana, honeydew melon and cantaloupe on the Marilyn Denise 7 day menu.
In the bigger picture the meal plan is meant to be an example of how to eat to reduce the amount of carbohydrates you take in and regulate your blood sugar. If you are going to eat fruit on its own I would suggest having an apple, pear or another piece of Northern grown fruit which is generally lower in sugar. Fruits such as bananas, pineapple and oranges should be eaten with some raw nuts or seeds to help moderate the amount of sugar that hits the blood stream. As for carrots and pea, it is difficult to fit in all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables that are available to us in one week.

P.S:
Both carrots and pea's have wonderful nutrient value. You can slow down the natural sugars in both these veggies by serving them with a bit of vinegar and olive oil or better yet- try a tablespoon of bean dip whenever eating carrots! |
