I agree that simply putting it down to perimenopause without offering some sort of solution does not make sense. There has to be a reason for the changes in your body and as Dr. John Grey would tell us there are many cultures in the world that do not go through menopause like we do here in North America.

The problem with dispensing advice over the internet is that each person is so different and their root cause can be varied. I would recommend having a work-up done by a Naturopathic Doctor that specializes in this field.

The reason I might not recommend EGCG for you is that if you do have an issue with thyroid function that your doctor might not be picking up on with a single standard thyroid test, green tea can be problematic. Green tea is a source of fluoride and which can cause thyroid problems if taken in large quantity. You may want to talk to a ND about more thorough thyroid testing.

Here is an article on that subject: http://www.endocrineweb.com/conditions/thyroid/thyroid-gland-function

If the issue you are facing is perimenopause there are many natural supports that you can use including diet, supplementation, exercise and stress reduction. It sounds like you are working hard on the exercise and that is great! Keep it up!
